If you want to try some vegan pizzas, we have found several places for you to try out in New York City.
Bon appetit!
Screamer’s Pizzeria
Address: 620 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222, United States
Address: 685 Franklin Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238
There are 2 locations in New York, Crown Heights (near Prospect Park Zoo) and Greenpoint (just south of Long Island City) which are both open from 12 PM to 12 AM every day.
The menu varies a little between both locations but they both offer either medium or large-sized pizzas.
Try their white pie which has garlic oil, almond ricotta vegan cheese, and oregano. This is a simple recipe but gives a mild, cheesy texture in your mouth.
Almond ricotta is a plant-based version of cheese that usually consists of blended almonds, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, salt, and a bit of garlic powder for some flavor.
If you go to the Crown Heights location, you can try their Philly cheesesteak pizza.
The ingredients include garlic oil, spiced seitan, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, onions, and vegan cheese.
Seitan is made from wheat gluten and has a texture that can mimic the texture of meat after it is cooked, making it a much better alternative than something like tofu for a pizza topping.
You have to rinse away the starch found in wheat dough in order to get the high-protein base for seitan.
Seitan can be used in different ways to make alternatives to sausage, pepperoni, or even deli meat.
It is quite bland when cooked on its own but absorbs the flavors around it easily.
Two Boots

There are 2 locations in New York City located in West Village and East Village.
They have 2 locations in Brooklyn too, in Williamsburg and Park Slope.
The hours at West and East Village are the same, Sunday – Thursday 12 PM to 9 PM and Friday – Saturday 12 PM to 10 PM.
Williamsburg is open Sunday – Thursday 11:30 AM to 9 PM and Friday – Saturday 11:30 AM to 10 PM.
Park Slope has similar hours to the Williamsburg location, except it closes at 9:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Try the pizza they call My Brilliant Vegan Friend to get a taste of vegan sausage, broccoli rabe, hot cherry peppers, and Daiya brand non-dairy cheese.
The hot cherry peppers add vibrant color, not to mention a good amount of spiciness to any vegan pizza.
Their Vegan Tony Clifton is also a unique pizza that has shiitake mushrooms, Vidalia onions, sweet red pepper pesto, and of course Daiya brand non-dairy cheese.
Talk about a flavorful vegan pizza! If you’ve never tried a red pepper pesto, you should because it is heavenly.

Double Zero
Address: 65 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003
This pizzeria located in the heart of East Village has its own custom-built wood-burning oven. Their hours are Monday – Wednesday 12 PM to 10 PM and Thursday – Sunday 12 PM to 11 PM.
Try their Truffle Cashew Cream Pizza with mild mushrooms, baby kale, and a lemon vinaigrette. The cheese has a cashew base and this pizza is soy-free.
Having a lemon vinaigrette cuts through all the rich flavors and adds a good tanginess to the pizza.
Another delicious vegan pizza you can try from Double Zero is the Spicy Arrabiata which features shiitake bacon. Shiitake bacon is made from shiitake mushrooms.
One way to prepare shiitake bacon at home is by taking off the stems and slicing the mushroom caps about ¼ inch thick.
Toss them in a drizzle of oil and season with salt and paprika before baking in the oven to allow them to crisp.

Paulie Gee’s
Address: 110 Franklin St, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Located on Greenpoint Ave in Brooklyn, this is a popular place to order vegan pizzas.
Their hours are Monday – Friday 6 PM to 10 PM and Saturday Sunday from 5 PM to 10 PM. Try the Vegan Daniela Spinaci featuring baby spinach, mild Aleppo chili oil, and NUMU vegan mozzarella.
NUMU is a brand that makes vegan mozzarella cheese out of coconut oil and soybeans. It looks and has the texture of real cheese which makes it all the more appetizing.
The In Ricotta Da Vegan pizza has house-made vegan sausage, baby arugula, and house-made cashew ricotta cheese.
The cashew ricotta cheese is similar to the almond ricotta cheese in how it is made, but we sure wish we knew the exact recipe that Paulie Gee’s has perfected.
All of Paulie Gee’s vegan pizzas offer very health-conscious choices.
