Who Invented Pizza and Where?
The first pizza was prepared in Italy. Raffaele Esposito-the Italian baker often is mentioned as the first person who invented pizza.
But we may see other sources that often mention that Italian vendors sold flatbread with a very tasty Topping.
There is a beautiful legend that tells that Italian king Umberto 1 and the queen Margherita visited Naples.
They asked Raffaele to make a pizza. The pizza was prepared with mozzarella, tomatoes and cheese topped over it. Thus pizza Margherita “was born”.
The pizza was brought to the USA and the rest of Europe by immigrants. And it gained popularity only after the Second World War.
